Many major cities have already imposed limitations on vehicles in order to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions and improve the air quality. London introduced Ultra Low Emission Zones (ULEZ) in 2015, which also applies strict emission regulations to mobile construction machinery. Contractors must meet these legal regulations in order to avoid paying fines. This company, who subsequently became an RM customer, was looking for a crusher that would also be able to handle the special conditions on a site in the centre of London: a building next to a school near Camden Market was to be demolished where there was hardly space to manoeuvre, let alone even access the site through the approx. 2.5 m narrow entrance. Via a recommendation from an acquaintance, the rental customer found out that RM crushers can produce perfect final aggregate in a single pass that can be used again immediately on the job site. They then rented the 70GO! 2.0 from the British RM dealership Red Knight 6 Ltd. It took the RM machine only five days to crush 4000 tons of material. The final aggregate was re-used on site. Because less material needed to by transported away as a result, the residents were saved from unnecessary truck traffic and the environment was spared higher emissions. Thanks to the RM drive concept, the diesel consumption of RM crushers is very low, which in turn reduces emissions and running costs.

Quietest impact crusher in the industry
In addition to emissions, the City of London also regulates noise. No problem for RM crushers. “Whenever I visit a construction site where a RM crusher is working I am again and again surprised how low the noise level of the machine is compared to other crushers,” says Paul Donnelly, Director of Red Knight 6. The secret lies in the noise-reducing design, which makes the RM 70 GO! 2.0 the perfect crusher unit for operating in noise-sensitive areas. Over the years, the RM engineers have developed and optimised various noise reducing components such as the engine cladding, mounting and ventilation louvres. As confirmed by the results of the standardised measuring procedure: the mean noise pressure level (Lp) at a distance of 10 metres is 80.6 db(A) and at a distance of 100 metres it is 60.6 db(A), making the RM 70GO! 2.0 the quietest crusher in the industry.

Powerful, mobile, intuitive
It’s not only about making low emissions count, the output needs to be great as well. Again this is no problem for the RM impact crusher: with an average throughput of 125 tons per hour the job at Haverstock Hill Road was finished within five days. The high mobility of this outstanding compact crusher was impressive in the narrow job site. With a width of only 2200 mm the RM 70GO! 2.0 was able to drive through the narrow gateway into the site between two multi-storey buildings and turn around. “The RM crushers are very intuitive to operate. That is one of the reasons why we love the RM impact crushers and makes them perfect for hiring. With the remote control the RM 70GO! 2.0 is easily moved from one location to the next. It also only requires one person to operate the excavator and control the crusher, which saves time and money. You can even crush and drive at the same time. It is all these ‘little’ things that make the big difference with RUBBLE MASTER”, says Paul Donnelly.

Unique solutions lead to success
“Unfollow convention” is the claim of Camden Market in London. “Unfollow convention” could equally be applied to RM’s philosophy. The RM Spirit describes the drive to always find the best solutions for customers, which includes thinking outside the box and heading in a new direction. “RM knows what customers need and listens to them. But RM is not satisfied by delivering solutions. At RUBBLE MASTER they think a step further and develop innovations. They want the very BEST solution for their customers. The RM partnership with its customers and its dealers is unique in the market. As this partnership is very important to Red Knight 6, RM as a manufacturer is the perfect match for us,” says Donnelly.

Natural rock

Crushing at a high output and low wear, and that in every possible and impossible location, is not an issue for RM crushers. They manage to generate the highest quality value grain from natural stone on site. Depending on the desired combination of machinery. The end result is always cubic aggregate.

Abrasive rock

Quartz gravel, granite and riverbed gravel are not easy to process because high levels of quartz cause high wear. However, RM crushers are designed for such materials: thanks to their compact size they can achieve high throughputs even in tight spaces, producing valuable aggregate directly on site at all times.

Schrefler relies on RM hybrid crusher

Demolition work and mobile recycling have been part of Manfred Schrefler’s range of services since 2016; previously he was known primarily for transport and earthwork. In terms of machinery, the Upper Austrian relies on top quality and always has the very latest technology.

Basalt preparation

Crushed basalt is used for a variety of purposes. Most often, it is crushed to be used as an aggregate in construction projects.

Increase in orders with cuboid final aggregate

In Mexico the RM 100GO! replaces a jaw and cone crusher combination. Basalt with a diameter of up to 500 mm is crushed into different sizes of cuboid final aggregate, which is then reused for asphalt production. Final aggregate grades between 0-19 and 0 25 mm are processed to a high standard without any problems.

RM 70GO! 2.0 crushes hard river basalt

The first mobile RM crusher in Gorontalo, Indonesia, has been in operation since spring 2017. The new RM 70GO! 2.0 replaces several machines at once: instead of using the jaw crusher combined with a cone crusher, this mobile crusher unit processes extremely hard river basalt in a single pass.
