2007 Award of the Federal Republic of Germany in SILVER for RM70

Competing for the „Prize of Prizes“, the official Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, the outstanding design concept of the RM70 won SILVER, as a recognition of excellence in design.

"Technical innovation and good Design – these are the decisive factors in lifting products and communication services out of the ordinary run and increasing their market chances." This is how Economics Minister, Michael Glos, characterises the purpose of a prize which is sponsored by his ministry to foster economic growth. On his behalf, the German Design Council, Germany's centre for excellence in Design, announces 25 Gold and Silver Awards every year to companies and Designers whose achievements distinguish themselves in the market environment by high levels of Design quality, serviceability, ecological value and innovation. Participation is restricted exclusively to products and communications services which have already been awarded a national or international prize for their Design in the last five years.

Following an invitation of the German Design Council, an international jury had to decide by end of September 2006 – 940 innovative products being nominated. In their statement the independent jury argue: “The RM70 Compact Recycler is a self-operating recycling system for building waste, with strong crushing power. Thanks to the low emission values for sound and dust the compact RM70 is the ideal inner city crusher, optimal for small and medium building sites in sensitive areas. It features a pleasingly clear minimalist design and is divided clearly into static and dynamic components. Independent of the clear, formally demanding lines it has become an icon for this type of construction machine. As part of the opening ceremony of the Ambiente – International Frankfurt Fair on 9 February 2007, the German Design Council presented the winners of the 2007 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.

It is the recognition of the status industrial design has within our design process”, expressed Gerald Hanisch. “For RUBBLE MASTER design is not for its own sake and not a price raising factor. Design for us is the uncompromising translation of our customers’ needs into a real machine with clear styling and usability by intuition.”
